I agree with you about luck, and there are certain luck factors in Dice Wars that really make it hard to play. The first person to move, for example, almost always has the advantage, and the fact that the dice are placed randomly after your turn also can put you in pretty bad situations. In certain cases I think it helps the game, in others it makes it extremely frustraiting.

As for the circle thing, I always find us three going around posting in responce to each other, especially if it's on a topic we're all interested in.

That said, I'm usually posting in responce to you two, so maybe I'm more the bottom of a triangle? ;)

I found that I didn't like it: there was way, way too much randomness for me. I don't like the lack of control, especially since every time I played, I was the second-to-last person to go, and rarely had more than two or three spare dice to throw around. That's just plain piss-poor design.

So, I hate the game. But I'm biased against luck games: my favorite games use luck only to give an amplitude of success or failure, not to determine success or failure itself.

That's an important distinction, and I'll post about it.

Anyhow, the analysis is very good. And, hey, I'm evidently part of a circle. :D
