As Darius mentioned, we both spent part of the last two days writing bots to give us Metacritic scores for games while we’re in the game store. His works over SMS, but since I haven’t signed up for unlimited text messaging (but I do have unlimited data), I went with making an MSN bot instead (thanks to MSNPSharp…. with a few fixes).

Unlike Darius’s bot, my bot currently only works when I message it, mostly because I need to make the bot actually accept friend requests automatically (or just make him public on MSN?). Other than that, Darius’s bot and my bot work exactly the same way. Message the name of a game, it searches for it and returns the top three matches from Metacritic.

When I have auto friend requests working, I will post again and let everyone know they can use it. Or maybe I’ll just post the service code, and you can run it yourself
