		<description>For making 2D games, I'd recommend taking a look at &lt;a href="http://developer.popcap.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt;PopCap's Engine&lt;/a&gt;, which is fairly complete and well-tested, and is available under a fairly liberal, BSD-style open source license.  A few other frameworks come to mind, although I can't think of any that are open source and as well tested.  (PopCap has used their framework in commercially released games.)</description>
